I'm thinking of coming to live in Clevedon.  Would you recommend it?

Yes, once or twice.  But as a visitor not considering it as a place to live.  How does it compare to Portishead?

Never really been to Yatton.  Is it mostly modern housing?  I prefer a place with a bit more character.

Yatton is a large village with a mixture of modern and old houses and has a  population of around 9,000. there's plenty of houses for sale in the village (modern and old). there's a lot of photos of the village and info on their community website: www.yatton.org.

I suppose I like the idea of living nearer the water.  Clevedon seems an attractive place from what I've seen.  What do people think are the negatives?  Housing doesn't seem cheap.

I lived in Clevedon in the early 80's and if the opportunity arose, I would move back tomorrow. I spent a nostalgic day walking around the town in July this year and it made me very broody indeed.

Clevedon is beautiful in the summer, in fact the thing that sticks in my mind most about living there were the summers. The walks you can go on are spectacular, along the cliffs and down to Ladye Bay.

I haven't found any really nice pubs, but they weren't much cop when I lived there either.

I just joined this message board today and will be posting some of my pics.

Some of the surrounding places are nice too. You are only a hop and a spit from Cheddar Gorge, which I think is better in the winter when there are less people there.

If you do / have move to Clevedon and like a picturesque quiet town, it will certainly fit the bill.

Keith
