The Albany

I am doing some family history and apparently my grandfather was brought up at The Albany by three maiden sisters (who I think owned it). His name was Desmond Gordon Murray (known as Gordon) and I think that the three women were his aunts - maybe on his mother's side. The time from would have been from 1913. Gordon's children remember staying their when they were children so I am guessing that the three women (or a combination of them) would have had the place for some 40 or so years.

When Gordon died in 1992, the guest book from The Albany, which apparently dated back tot he 1800's was donated to a museum in Clevedon. Any guesses which Museum that might be, Google isn't very helpful in coming up with something definitive. I mention this because maybe someone from the museum might be able to look it up for me ...

Can anyone help, or know somewhere that I could go to look for help? I am from Australia so walking around the streets isn't a practical option lol smile.gif

Many thanks

Pearl
