Is it me, or is clevedon one hell of a mess these days.  Even the stuff the vandals haven't damaged looks tired and jaded these days.

Check out Nailsea, Portishead and Weston......... Why dosen't Clevedon get a make-over?

Its all about money as they say....the Clevedon Tourism Group are looking into increasing tourism, which means lobbying parties to get the place cleaned up and a higher profile for tourists, even from Bristol....yes this website is owned by a Bristolian in Hanham and not anyone in Clevedon!

This will have a benefit for local residents as well obviously.

The big question is would residents of Clevedon lobby thier council and also NOrth Somerset council for this to happen....its all very good complaning but if nothing is done about it then nothing will happen..

Thisalso means re-educating all age groups to respect the town !!

Sorry to be pedantic, but the website is owned by a Plymouthian who lived in Clevedon for 10 years 1992 to 2002, during which time the idea of Clevedon.org was born!

I spent a day in Clevedon in July visiting my old haunts. One thing I did notice was yob culture on the streets. I visited the petrol station not far from the sea front and there were a bunch of "Vicky Pollards" hanging about right in front of the door to the shop. They wouldn't move to let anyone in or out.

Then I saw a bunch sitting on the wall up by the Salthouse, spitting on passers by.

I dropped into the Crabapple, which was my local when I lived there in the hopes I could get some lunch. There were TV screens everywhere and wall to wall "football enthusiast". I drank up and left.

That whole complex where the Crabapple stands is only twenty five years old and already looks like it should be demolished, what a dump.

I miss Clevedon badly, but those were just one day's observations of the negative side of the town.
